acupuncture & ear seeds

acupuncture
Acupuncture is a treatment derived from Traditional Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted into various points along the body for therapeutic or preventive purposes.
Traditional acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or ‘life force’, flows through the body in channels called meridians. This life force is known as Qi (pronounced as 'chi').
The belief is that when Qi does not flow freely, it can cause illness. Acupuncture helps to restore the flow of Qi, improving health and wellbeing.
ear seeds
Ear seeds are a form of needle-free acupuncture. It uses tiny beads that are held in place by a clear sticker or plaster.
They are a type of auriculotherapy, which is a Traditional Chinese medicine technique that focuses on the ear. They are thought to provide comfort and relaxation.
Ear seeds are traditionally made from an herb called vaccaria, but can also be made of ceramic or metal.
The seeds are placed outside of your ear over certain acupoints, and are held in place with a waterproof cover for up to five days.
